Walking Meditation: Ten Slow Steps
For people who find sitting still difficult, walking meditation is a gentler way in. Walk ten slow steps, turn, and walk back — paying attention to the lifting, moving and placing of each foot.
This tip is scheduled for Sunday 29 November 2026 — you’re early. It’s all here already; enjoy.
How to do it
- Find a quiet path of about ten steps — a corridor or a garden is enough.
- Stand still and feel your weight in both feet.
- Lift one foot slowly… move it forward… place it… shift your weight onto it.
- Repeat with the other foot, keeping the gaze soft, a few metres ahead.
- At the end of the path, pause, turn slowly and walk back.
- Continue for 10 minutes.
