Udgeeth: Chanting Om for Steady Attention
Udgeeth is slow chanting of Om on a long exhale — 'O' for most of the breath and 'M' for the last part. The gentle vibration and the long exhale make it a simple, steadying practice for the start or end of the day.
This tip is scheduled for Sunday 8 November 2026 — you’re early. It’s all here already; enjoy.
How to do it
- Sit tall and close the eyes.
- Inhale deeply through the nose.
- Chant a long 'Ooo…' for about two-thirds of the exhale.
- Close the lips and hum 'Mmm…' for the rest of it.
- Pause, inhale, and repeat 7 to 11 times.
- Sit quietly for a minute afterwards.
