Supta Baddha Konasana: The Restorative Hip Opener
Lying back with the soles of the feet together and the knees supported is one of the most restful poses in yoga. The hips open slowly, and the breath has room to deepen.
This tip is scheduled for Sunday 18 October 2026 — you’re early. It’s all here already; enjoy.
How to do it
- Lie on your back and bring the soles of the feet together, letting the knees fall out to the sides.
- Support each knee with a cushion or folded blanket.
- Rest the hands on the belly or by your sides.
- Close the eyes and breathe slowly.
- Stay for 3 to 5 minutes.
- To come out, bring the knees together with the hands and roll to one side.
