The Long-Drive Reset: Three Stretches at a Rest Stop
Long drives home for the holidays mean hours in one position. At every rest stop, take three minutes: reach up, fold forward, stretch the calves. You'll arrive less stiff and more alert.
This tip is scheduled for Friday 18 December 2026 — you’re early. It’s all here already; enjoy.
How to do it
- Get out of the car and walk briskly for a minute.
- Reach: interlace the fingers and stretch the arms overhead, leaning gently side to side.
- Fold: bend the knees and fold forward, letting the head hang, for 5 breaths.
- Calves: hands on the car, step one foot back with the heel down — 5 breaths each side.
- Finish with 10 shoulder rolls before getting back in.
