Resonance Breathing: About Six Breaths a Minute
Breathing in for 5 seconds and out for 5 — about six breaths a minute — is a rhythm many breathing researchers use because it tends to feel steady and calm. It is easy to learn with a pacer like the one below.
This tip is scheduled for Wednesday 14 October 2026 — you’re early. It’s all here already; enjoy.
How to do it
- Sit comfortably with a tall spine and a soft belly.
- Inhale through the nose for 5 seconds.
- Exhale through the nose for 5 seconds.
- Keep the breath quiet and smooth, with no pauses at the top or bottom.
- Follow the ring for 5 minutes. If 5 seconds feels long, start with 4.
