Sphinx Pose: A Gentle Backbend for Desk Spines
Most of our day bends the spine forward. Sphinx gives it a mild, supported extension — resting on the forearms, so the back muscles can relax into it.
This tip is scheduled for Thursday 15 October 2026 — you’re early. It’s all here already; enjoy.
How to do it
- Lie on your front, legs hip-width apart, tops of the feet down.
- Place the elbows under the shoulders with the forearms parallel.
- Press the forearms down and lift the chest.
- Draw the shoulders away from the ears and keep the neck long.
- Breathe softly for 1 to 3 minutes.
- Lower slowly and rest the head on the hands.
