Parighasana (Gate Pose): A Side-Body Stretch on Your Knees
Gate Pose opens the whole side of the body — from the hip, along the ribs, to the fingertips — while the kneeling base keeps it steady.
This tip is scheduled for Tuesday 22 December 2026 — you’re early. It’s all here already; enjoy.
How to do it
- Kneel upright with a cushion under the knees.
- Extend the right leg out to the side, foot flat, toes forward.
- Inhale and raise the left arm.
- Exhale and slide the right hand down the right leg as you bend sideways.
- Breathe into the left side of the body for 5 breaths.
- Inhale back up, then switch sides.
