Tiryaka Tadasana: The Swaying Palm Tree
A classic morning stretch: arms overhead, swaying from the waist like a palm tree in the wind. It lengthens the sides of the body and wakes up the breath.
This tip is scheduled for Saturday 31 October 2026 — you’re early. It’s all here already; enjoy.
How to do it
- Stand with the feet hip-width apart.
- Interlace the fingers and stretch the arms overhead, palms up.
- Exhale and sway the upper body to the left from the waist.
- Inhale back to centre.
- Exhale and sway to the right; inhale back to centre.
- Repeat 5 to 8 times each side, then lower the arms slowly.
