Low Lunge (Anjaneyasana): The Antidote to Sitting
Sitting keeps the front of the hips short for hours. The low lunge lengthens them gently — one of the most useful stretches for anyone with a desk job or a long commute.
This tip is scheduled for Saturday 24 October 2026 — you’re early. It’s all here already; enjoy.
How to do it
- From hands and knees, step the right foot forward between the hands.
- Lower the left knee onto a folded blanket.
- Bring the hands to the right thigh and lift the chest.
- Gently move the hips forward until you feel a stretch at the front of the left hip.
- If comfortable, lift the arms overhead.
- Hold for 5 to 8 breaths, then switch sides.
