Anti-Doping Policy & Athlete Governance

Universal, WADA-compatible policy governing all athletes, coaches, medical staff, and officials participating in any SEGA-sanctioned national or international tournament.

§0 · Purpose & scope

Why competitive Yogasana needs anti-doping

As a premier competitive Yogasana sports circuit governed under elite athletic metrics, SEGA Intercontinental enforces a strict, scientifically rigorous anti-doping policy. Competitive Yogasana demands unprecedented levels of dynamic core stability, micro-muscular control, and autonomic respiratory endurance.

Because performance is judged via high-precision metrics — the SEGA AI Judge™ tracks Centre of Gravity, plumb-line alignment, and involuntary tremors — the use of performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) to artificially stabilise the nervous system, lower the resting heart rate, or accelerate tissue recovery undermines the integrity of the sport.

This policy applies universally to all athletes, coaches, medical staff, and committee officials participating in any national or international tournament sanctioned by SEGA Intercontinental — including the July 2026 Championships in Kuala Lumpur and every subsequent event.

§1 · Prohibited substance classes

WADA-compatible list, Yogasana-specific reasoning

SEGA aligns its prohibited list with international athletic standards while focusing specifically on substances that alter the neuro-somatic and biomechanical parameters required for competitive Yogasana.

Class A · Autonomic suppressors

Beta-Blockers

MechanismDown-regulate sympathetic nervous system activity, artificially lowering heart rate and suppressing physical tremors. Examples: Propranolol, Atenolol.

Yogasana distortionIn high-tariff balancing postures (Asanas), micro-tremors are natural structural data points tracked by the AI Judge to measure genuine neuromuscular control. Suppressing tremors via chemical intervention is a direct competitive infraction.

Class B · CNS stimulants

Central Nervous System Stimulants

MechanismAmphetamines, Modafinil, Ephedrine over-stimulate the nervous system, artificially elevating focus, alertness and respiratory drive.

Yogasana distortionStimulants disrupt the calm, highly regulated Alpha and Theta brainwave frequencies necessary for deep breath holds (Kumbhaka) and fluid transitions, creating an artificial amphetamine-driven focus matrix.

Anabolic Agents & SARMs

MechanismTestosterone variants, Nandrolone, SARMs artificially accelerate protein synthesis and muscle hypertrophy.

Yogasana distortionArtificially increases relative core tensile strength and power-to-weight ratios, bypassing the natural micro-muscular maturation built over years of structural conditioning.

Class D · Masking agents

Diuretics & Masking Agents

MechanismSubstances used to rapidly alter fluid retention or dilute urine samples to conceal the presence of other prohibited substances.

Yogasana distortionAny masking use is treated as evidence of concealed doping intent, regardless of what is being masked.

§2 · Traditional Siddha & Ayurvedic exemptions

The therapeutic framework

SEGA Intercontinental recognises the therapeutic use of traditional, pure herbal medicines for recovery, joint conditioning and systemic detoxification.

Permitted Natural Compounds

Standard Siddha Thailams applied transdermally for Thokkanam (physical manipulation) are 100% permitted and encouraged for athletic injury rehabilitation. This includes:

Murivenna Thailam (rotator cuff / tendon repair), Mahanarayan Thailam (lumbar / sciatic nerve pain), Dhanwantharam Thailam (hamstring / systemic trauma), Karpooradi Thailam (knee / acute swelling), Kottamchukkadi Thailam (cervical spasm), Prabhanjanam Thailam (ankle stabilisation).

Internal Siddha preparations from certified manufacturers (Kayakalpa herbs, Amla, Ashwagandha, Shatavari, Brahmi) taken at classical dosages are permitted, subject to the contamination warning below.

Permitted · Encouraged for recovery

Contamination warning: Athletes are strictly responsible for ensuring traditional herbs, roots and performance supplements are sourced from verified manufacturers, free from heavy-metal contamination, adulteration, or undeclared synthetic stimulants. Ignorance of an ingredient's purity is not an acceptable defence under this policy. When in doubt, submit the supplement label to Prof Segar for pre-clearance before consumption.

§3 · Testing protocols & governance

How testing is conducted

Testing windows

In-Competition

Random selection of top-performing athletes immediately following the conclusion of advanced tariff rounds. All podium finishers are automatically subject to selection.

Out-of-Competition

Unannounced whereabouts testing for elite-tier ranked athletes on the SEGA international circuit leaderboard. Registered athletes maintain a 60-minute testing window daily.

Sample collection

Chain-of-custody protocol

All testing protocols follow strict chain-of-custody documentation. Samples are separated into explicit “A” and “B” bottles, sealed with tamper-evident closures under the direct observation of certified anti-doping officers. Athletes may nominate a witness of their choice. All handovers are logged with timestamp + signature.

§4 · Disciplinary matrix & sanctions

Infractions and consequences

Infractions of the SEGA Intercontinental Anti-Doping Policy will be met with immediate administrative and competitive penalties, executed without exception.

§5 · Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE)

When medical need meets competitive rules

Athletes who require an otherwise prohibited substance to treat a verified, documented medical condition may apply for a Therapeutic Use Exemption.

TUE application requirements

Submit the TUE Application to the SEGA Medical Committee at least 30 days prior to any competitive event.
Application must contain comprehensive clinical records including diagnosis, treatment history and imaging where relevant.
Include an explicit statement from an independent medical expert (not the athlete's regular physician) confirming that no alternative, non-prohibited treatment exists.
Include dosage, frequency, route of administration and expected duration of treatment.
The SEGA Medical Committee reviews within 14 days and issues one of: Approved (with expiry date and conditions), Approved with modifications, or Denied with reasoning.
Athletes may appeal a denial once, providing additional independent medical evidence, within 30 days of denial notice.
An approved TUE does not automatically renew — each competition season requires fresh submission.

Retrospective TUE: not accepted except in documented medical emergencies where prior application was impossible. Athletes competing under emergency medication must self-report at the earliest opportunity.

Educational governance document. This policy is a summary of the SEGA Intercontinental anti-doping framework. In case of conflict between this summary and the full policy document held by the SEGA Medical Committee, the full policy takes precedence. All athletes competing under SEGA sanction accept the terms of the full policy upon registration.
